About
Hello, world!
This website is created by John Boxall. Who am I? For over eighteen years my profession has varied, roughly orbiting in the worlds of electrical, electronics, mobile communications, information technology, business and humanities. However now in the mid-life I have come full circle and returned to my favourite things – electronics and having fun. Hopefully my writings and projects are of interest to you. For the curious – here I am (pondering new articles):
To clear a few things up – I’m based in Melbourne, Australia. That’s why we use the metric system, write dates as day-month-year, and say colour – not color. If you made it this far, check out my new book.
At the end of every post there are a variety of methods to stay in touch, so please use them – then every time something new appears on the site you will know as soon as possible. Kindly note that I am colour blind, so my apologies in advance if anything looks odd design-wise. Please let me know if something is difficult for you to read so we can change it.
In the spirit of sharing, all the original material in this website, unless noted otherwise, is covered under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike v3.0 license. If you would like to use the work in other situations, please email me. If you feel something is attributed incorrectly – please let me know. Currently I am rejecting applications to re-post material in English.
Boring stuff…
Errors and Omissions:
Against my best efforts sometimes I might make a mistake or two. Material is proofed several times, in different states of alertness – however bugs might slip through. If you are doing something critical, please make your own checks as I take absolutely no responsibility for negative or positive effects due to the use of material published on this or web sites that are linked from this website or anything else caused by anyone or anything. Do anything by following my instructions at your own risk!
Safety:
Safety of yourself and those around you should always be your number one priority. Over time things change, especially in the world of electronics. Although I have personally created, built, assembled or broken all the things discussed on this web site, you may have a different experience for an infinite number of reasons. It is your responsibility to act safely and to take necessary precautions to avoid injury to yourself and those around you. Use of the guides, instructions, products and anything else in this website is done at your own risk. Neither myself, nor any other person, supplier or organisation mentioned on this website accept any responsibility for anything that may result in damage, injury or expense to yourself or others.
The law:
Sometimes you may have the opportunity to do something with the instructions or products on this website that may be an offence in your local jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are operating legally in your region, with regards to copyright, legal activities, electrical work, and anything else “the man” (i.e. your government) has their nose in. Once again we take absolutely no responsibility if you break the law with something you have created with the help of this website. So do what you like, stay safe – and don’t get caught!
Mutually-beneficial partnerships
Writing for this website and other commitments does take a lot of my time. Presently I cannot accept any more requests for free “Guest Blogger”-type or other content. However, I do generate content as a paid service. But, I’d be mad not to consider mutually-beneficial suggestions - email if you have one.
Promotional Considerations:
Some products used in various articles have been promotional considerations and are noted as such in each article. For more information please email john at tronixstuff dot com.
